Works on open gym, park begin at Kalady – Times of India

Kochi: As part of the destination challenge programme of tourism department, an open gym and a park are getting ready near Manikyamangalam waterbody in Kalady panchayat. The department envisages to develop a tourism centre in each local body limit.The waterbody is situated close to Kalady-Manjapra Road. Construction work began on Wednesday. The works include installing fitness equipment, setting up of walkway, entertainment facilities for children, toilet blocks, beautification of the area and lighting.The department also envisages to ensure the conservation of the waterbody. The project is implemented with the development fund of Roji John, MLA, destination challenge fund and local body fund.
