‘Turn tiger reserves into eco-tourist sites’ – Times of India

Hyderabad: Chief minister Revanth Reddy on Friday directed the officials to appoint expert consultancies to prepare plans for development of eco-tourism projects in the state by developing Kawal in North Telangana and Amrabad tiger reserves in the South as big tourist spots.A special tourism policy will be brought to ensure that wild animals are not harmed by the tourism projects. The officials were told to conduct studies in various states where camps are provided for tourists in the forest areas. Safety and security measures followed in those camps should be implemented in the state as well. The proposals should be made with the objective of getting international recognition for its natural beauty in the forests and tourist areas. The forest officials were directed to work in coordination with the tourism department to prepare the proposals and for the development of eco- tourism projects.
