St. Kitts Tourism hails UK roadshow success

St. Kitts Tourism Authority recently wound up a successful UK travel agent roadshow.

SKTA Chair, Ermelin Sebastian–Duggins led a delegation to the UK from 13 – 16 November 2023, encouraging agents and operators to sell the destination.

It was held in partnership with Nevis Tourism Authority.

The roadshow included dedicated travel trade events at Minster Mill in Oxfordshire and Norton Park Hotel in Winchester.

Each event was attended by 25 travel agents and other trade professionals with a networking session on arrival, dinner and presentations.

There were updates on the latest tourism developments on both St. Kitts and Nevis, and from a selection of hotel representatives.

Travel agents were also given the opportunity to win prizes ranging from bottles of rum, a complimentary three-night stay at Sunset Reef St. Kitts, and fam trips to St. Kitts & Nevis.

The roadshow rounded off a successful year in the UK market, with monthly arrivals from the UK up by an average of 38% versus 2022.

“It was wonderful to spend time with our valued trade partners in the UK,” said Ellison “Tommy” Thompson, Chief Executive Officer at the St. Kitts Tourism Authority.

“We’re delighted with how well the UK market has performed for us this year,” Thompson said.

“The roadshow gave us the opportunity to thank the agents and operators who have supported us this year.”

St. Kitts Tourism Authority’s 2023 programme of activity with the UK travel trade featured fam trips for 40 agents across five group fams, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of St. Kitts and Nevis’ independence.

St. Kitts is accessible from the UK via twice weekly flights from London Gatwick with British Airways.
