Modi launches tourism facilities at 5 lighthouses – Times of India


Berhampur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday dedicated tourist facilities at five lighthouses in the state, marking a total of 75 lighthouses across 10 states and Union Territories. The lighthouses in Odisha equipped with tourism amenities comprise Gopalpur-on-Sea in Ganjam district, the False Point lighthouse in Kendrapara district, Paradeep in Jagatsinghpur district, as well as Puri and Chandrabhaga in Puri district.Most of the lighthouses in the state are situated either in tourist spots or near serene locations. At present, visitors can access these sites by paying a fee of Rs 10 per person. Tourist facilities like parks for children, musical fountains, selfie points and sitting facilities have been developed at these places. S K Padhy, a navigational assistant at Gopalpur lighthouse, highlighted that visitors have the opportunity to experience tourist amenities within the Gopalpur lighthouse premises.tnn
