Ahead of the inauguration of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, the UP government in its supplementary Budget has earmarked Rs 100 crore for “Ramotsava 2023-24”. Though the officials did not divulge details about it, the event is expected to be held next year.
State Finance Minister Suresh Khanna, who presented the supplementary budget of a total outlay of Rs 28,760.67 crore in the Assembly on Wednesday, has made a separate allotment of Rs 50 crore for the Ayodhya Conservation and Development Fund.

It may be mentioned that some of the activities during the recently held Deepotsava in Ayodhya were undertaken under the Ayodhya Conservation and Development Fund, which is headed by Commissioner, Ayodhya. Recently, it was decided that funds would be used to make a music album on the life of Lord Ram.
Apart from this Rs 25 crore has been set aside for International Ramayana and Vedic Research Institute in Ayodhya. The institute would study the different forms of Ramayana across the world along with conducting research on the Vedic era and literature.
Rs 1 lakh token amount has also been allotted for the construction of Transit Hostel in Ayodhya among other things.
The supplementary Budget has also allotted Rs 4 crore for the “conservation and renovation of conserved temples, and another Rs 6 crore for renovation of 100-year-old temples, mutts, dharamshalas, kunds, and other religious places.
A token amount of Rs 1 lakh has also been set aside for the establishment of the Sri Ram Avtaran Corridor, stretching from Sri Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya to Sri Ram Yagya Sthali in Basti district and to the starting point of Chaurasi Koshi Parikrama Marg.
Meanwhile, Gorakhpur, the home constituency of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has also received significant funds in the supplementary Budget. For Uttar Pradesh Sainik School in Gorakhpur, Rs 5 crore has been allotted in the Budget. For the establishment of the NCC Training Academy in Gorakhpur, Rs 12 crore has been provided, and for the establishment of the Central School building at Hindustan Urvarak Rasayan Ltd Gorakhpur, another Rs 4.28 crore has been set aside.
Also, Rs 6.43 crore has been allotted for construction at Mahant Avaidhnath State College Jangal Kaudia; Rs 7.65 crore for Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhaya State College Sahjanwa, and another Rs 2 crore for the construction of the building at Sanket State College for specially-abled youths.
