This year, more than 1.4 billion people will travel across a border, which will exceed 2019 levels, and this is despite conflicts in the Middle East and Ukraine, and an uncertain election year in the U.S. And there’s one interesting discovery.
It’s all about experience tourism, perhaps thanks to the Taylor Swift effect.
One recent survey revealed that 18% of US travelers would fly a long-haul flight to see their favorite artist perform this year, and perhaps just as interesting, 47% say they have booked a destination purely based on a particular restaurant.
So, at least this year, a lot of travel seems to be based on dinner…and a show.
