Develop tourist spots in central Kashmir: Hakeem Yaseen – greaterkashmir


Srinagar, Jan 14: Chairman Peoples Democratic Front ( PDF )and former Minister Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen today urged the government to develop tourist spots in central Kashmir particularly Nilnag.

According to a press note, he accused the government of neglecting Nilnag , a high-altitude ancient blue watered lake. Hakeem Yaseen has sought personal intervention of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha for promotion of tourism in various high potential virgin tourist resorts in central Kashmir’s Budgam district , including Yusmarg , Doodhpathri and Tossamaidan . He alleged that not a single penny has been spent on ground on development of Nilnag Lake during the current fiscal so far .

Speaking at PDF workers convention at Buzgoo at Charar-e-Sharief on Sunday , Hakeem Yaseen castigated concerned department for neglecting Nilnag tourist resort altogether . He demanded urgent measures for development of Nilnag ,Yusmarg ,Doodhpathri and Tossamaidan on modern lines adding that there was vast tourism potential which needs to be exploited optimally for socio- economic prosperity in these areas .The former Minister demanded construction of Nilnag – Yusmarg -Bargah Gandola project at the earliest adding that the project would open new vistas of tourism related employment opportunities for the local youth.
