Anguilla targets golf tourism to lure visitors | Loop Caribbean News

The Anguilla Tourist Board (ATB) said will be targeting the lucrative golf tourism market to attract more visitors to the island.

ATB highlighted that the golf tourism market has great potential as over 25 million people in the United States, which is a major source market for tourists, participate in some form of golf activity.

Additionally, the golf tourism sector, which has a market value of USD 21.74 billion, is projected to expand at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 7.6 per cent from 2022 to 2030.

“The golf market is a resilient, year-round travel segment and Anguilla is ideally positioned to provide golf enthusiasts with an exceptional golf experience,” stated Stacey Liburd, Anguilla’s Director of Tourism.

The island is home to the Aurora Anguilla Resort & Golf Club, which was named the  Golf Resort of The Year by Caribbean Journal.

The resort boasts a signature, Greg Norman-designed 18-hole championship golf course and a 9-hole short course, Avalon Links, with stunning views of Rendezvous Bay.
